Is the EA a trading robot?

No. The Expert Advisor is strictly read-only. It observes the trades you place and forwards them to your Trader+AI account over an HMAC-signed webhook. It does not place, modify, or close orders. You can keep running any other trading bot on a different chart alongside it.

What platforms does it support?

MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). Both netting and hedging accounts, on Windows, Mac (via Wine/Parallels/CrossOver), and Linux (via Wine). Web and mobile MetaTrader clients can't run Expert Advisors — you'll need a desktop terminal or a VPS.

Which brokers work?

Any broker that runs MetaTrader 4 or 5 — IC Markets, Pepperstone, OANDA, Tickmill, FP Markets, FxPro, Exness, RoboForex, and prop firms like FTMO, MyForexFunds, FundedNext, and The5%ers. Hundreds of brokers in total. The EA only needs WebRequest permission and the URL allowlist entry.

How long does setup take?

About two minutes. Download the EA from your dashboard, copy it to the MetaTrader Experts folder, drag it to a chart, paste the webhook URL and secret key, and enable AutoTrading. You should see "Connection test passed" in the Experts log within seconds. Historical trades sync automatically.

My EA shows "Connection test failed" — what do I do?

Almost always a WebRequest permission. Open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors in MetaTrader. Enable "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" and add https://traderplus.ai to the allowed URLs list. Then restart the EA.

Question 7

Do I need a VPS to run the EA 24/7?

Accepted Answer

Only if you want trades to sync while your computer is off. The EA runs inside MetaTrader; if you close MetaTrader, syncing pauses until you reopen it. Trades placed during downtime are still captured on the next sync — the EA backfills missed history. For prop firm traders, a cheap VPS keeps things reliable.

How far back does it sync historical trades?

Up to 365 days on first run by default. If your broker keeps deeper history, you can extend the range in the EA inputs. For older history beyond what your broker exposes, import a CSV / XLSX / MT4-MT5 HTML statement and we deduplicate by ticket.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan gives you one trading account, CSV/Excel/HTML import, the full journal and analytics, and 5 AI queries per day. No credit card required. The free plan does not include live MT4/MT5 EA syncing — that starts on Pro.

How much is Pro and Premium?

Pro is $19/month or $190/year — 3 trading accounts, live MT4/MT5 EA sync, full analytics, balance tracking, calendar and mood, and 50 AI queries per day. Premium is $49/month or $490/year — 10 trading accounts, all Pro features, and unlimited AI queries. Annual billing saves about 17%.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Billing → Manage Subscription opens the Stripe customer portal where you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.

Do you offer refunds?

We offer a 14-day refund window from your first paid charge. Email support, no questions asked. After 14 days, cancellations stop future billing but don't refund the current period.

How is the AI coach different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can read what you paste into it. The Trader+AI coach has direct, structured tool access to your live trade data — every executed trade, every pending order, your journal entries, mood scores, plan adherence flags, and aggregated statistics. It runs computations across thousands of trades and persists context across conversations.

What model does it use?

Google Gemini 2.5-flash with function calling, with a Groq-hosted Llama fallback for resilience. Both are wrapped in our agent that has read-only access to your data through scoped tools.

Will the coach predict the market for me?

Accepted Answer

No. The coach explicitly avoids predictive market calls. It coaches your process — discipline, plan adherence, mistake patterns, setup quality — not your picks. If you ask where EUR/USD is going next, it redirects to what your data actually shows about your edge.

Is my data used to train the model?

Accepted Answer

No. We use Gemini and Groq under their enterprise data policies, which prohibit training on API inputs. Your trade data and journal entries are sent only for the duration of answering your question. Your data is yours.

Does it work with FTMO, MyForexFunds, FundedNext, etc.?

Yes. Prop firms that use MT4 or MT5 (most do) work out of the box. The EA installs on the prop firm terminal exactly the same way as a personal account. Mark the account as a prop challenge in Trader+AI to enable rule-tracking for daily drawdown, total drawdown, and profit target.

Can I track multiple accounts at once?

Free supports 1 account, Pro supports 3, Premium supports 10. Each account is a separate entity — you can compare them side by side, see aggregated cross-account statistics, and the AI coach can answer questions like "how did my FTMO account perform vs my live this month?"

Can I tag trades by prop firm rule violations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The mistake-tag system has built-in prop firm tags (broke daily drawdown, broke total drawdown, traded outside allowed hours, breached news rule). Custom tags work too. The AI coach uses these to coach you on rule adherence.

Does the EA see my broker login?

Accepted Answer

No. The EA runs inside your already-authenticated MetaTrader session and only reads trade data. Your broker login, password, and API keys never leave your terminal. We can't trade on your behalf even if we wanted to.

How is the webhook secured?

Accepted Answer

Every request from the EA carries an HMAC-SHA256 signature computed over the timestamp, a nonce, and the request body — all using a secret known only to your terminal and our server. Replays are rejected; tampered payloads are rejected. The server enforces idempotency keys so a flaky network never duplicates a trade.

Where is my data stored?

PostgreSQL on managed infrastructure with daily backups. Sensitive fields (broker secrets, integration credentials) are AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest with versioned keys. Trade data and journal entries are stored in cleartext within your isolated row partition (multi-tenant by user ID).

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Account → Danger Zone has a permanent delete option that removes your account, every trade, every journal entry, every connector, and every AI conversation. We don't retain shadow copies. Email backups age out within 30 days.
